Riki grew up on the Big Island. Fewer programs, fewer connections, and a flight to O’ahu for anything worth showing up to. Same state. Same ambition. Different odds.
That gap runs between islands, between countries, between continents. Where you’re born, who your family knows, what happens to be nearby — none of it is chosen, and all of it decides who gets in.
We make the introduction.

"I started Discipulus after realizing how hard it is to get a job without experience. When I entered college, I saw how even small opportunities can shape the decisions students make about their careers. My own path began with an interest in medicine, but the lack of opportunities made me question if it was right for me. What has always stayed with me, though, is a passion for community service and helping others. With Discipulus, my goal is to give students the opportunities I wished I had — a chance to explore careers, gain experience, and find confidence in their future. Too often I’ve seen students unsure about their major, lost after graduation, or even giving up on their dreams because of closed doors. I want to change that."
"I am deeply committed to fostering a culture of opportunity and innovation, where students can explore their potential without the weight of pressure. My vision is to create an environment that empowers them to pursue their dreams through tangible, real-world opportunities. Students are the driving force behind the future of every industry, and I believe that initiatives like Discipulus can plant the seeds of growth that will eventually flourish, making a significant impact across the globe.
Modern education often confines students, limiting their ability to explore diverse pathways without fear of regression. By nurturing their aspirations from the outset, we are not merely supporting individuals; we are reinforcing the very fabric of our community. When we invest in our students today, we lay the groundwork for a more vibrant, dynamic future for all."
Ask what you can’t Google.
The path they took, the parts nobody posts about.
Leave clearer than you came. Not knowing yet is a fine place to start.
We’re not a job board. We don’t place students in internships. We make the introduction.
That’s what we can do well today. Internships and placements are where we’re going — we’ll say so when it’s true.
A short form. No résumé, no experience, no plan.
We go through our partners and find someone in your field who’ll make time.
Then we help you work out what comes next.
Businesses making time for students who don’t have a way in.

Discipulus is a nonprofit corporation founded in 2025. Two founders, a handful of partners, and a clear idea of what we’re building.
We haven’t made our first introduction yet. What we have is people willing to make time.
We’re not asking you to hire anyone. We’re asking for a conversation — someone who’s made it in your field, talking to someone trying to get into it.
